There are many misconceptions about physics which cause learning problems. In this article – the first of a series devoted to dismantle these misconceptions – we’ll try to show how heat absorption and temperature rise are not always the same thing. Processes in which heat absorption is followed by temperature decrease do exist. Ideal and real gases are examined as examples.
