This work demonstrates how the use of the video analysis software Tracker can complement the entire study of Mechanics in high schools, merging the ‘laboratory’ and the ‘classroom’, bringing significant benefits in terms of student learning. The path I have developed stems from a deep conviction of the necessity for active learning by each student, who should not limit their participation in the Physics lab to merely ‘watching’ or simply ‘following’ instructions. An educational methodology that places experiments and the measurement of physical quantities at its core should restore the dignity of physical laws, often interpreted by students as ‘magic formulas’ in which to insert data to ‘get the exercises right’.
